Getting there

This week was learning about objects. Real objects, unlike what I improperly labeled in a previous dev log. These things are so cool. Immediately I could think of useful ways to implement them for in depth character descriptions and stat tracking. As you may expect, if you actually are one of the few that seem to be reading these, I haven't made anything yet. So instead I'm going to talk about some things I've been doing this week which is in the same realm of content as Twisted Towers and talking about some gripes I have with them.

This week I played a decent way through Corruption of Champions 2. It has loads of sex scenes and mechanics that I am quite fond of. But naturally, there are things I wish could be better, and I'm not even referring to some of the controversies with the people who made it. The game offers a great amount of character transformations, which alter the description of the player character, as well as changing what scenes you can partake in. This system is good. It feels robust and easy to follow with experimentation. But the issue I have with it is how little it changes really effect things. You can transform yourself from a male to a completely stacked, hyper feminine female and your companions act like nothing has changed in the slightest. To me, things like this are frustrating. Some sort of recognition system would be best to solve this. On the other end, there are characters that can be given items to alter their appearance as well. This is nice to play around with but again feels overly limited. I find it disappointing that the characters can't be changed to the extent of the player character purely because someone didn't feel like making a scene for it. There are other things that make this impractical of course but it feels hollow in its execution as most of the time, giving the characters these items is unprompted. Instead of this approach, I want to see about giving NPCs the same bodily system as the player, and simply allow them to have a list of preferences for transformative items and can simply deny the player accepting items, or telling the player once their relationship has reached a certain point or something, lets the player know that they would be alright with said player offering them transformative items. So yes, I have plans of implementing something like this in Twisted Towers.

There are gripes I have in other areas of the game as well but it can be saved for another time. I will try to write down more of my thoughts for mechanics as time goes on.

I'll see you next week.
