Self Pacing
This week I realized that I'm moving too slowly. I've been saying things about not rushing and all that before, but if I don't increase the pace of my learning then I'm going to be running out of things to talk about in these weekly logs. So from here on I'm gonna try to be more productive in the whole learning side of this. I was browsing through Codecademy's JS courses and it turns out there's like, 50 courses lmao. I have no idea how I missed them, maybe I just forgot. But what they cover seems valuable since they're labeled intermediate and advanced.
In other news for Codecademy; the Node.js course is turning out to be quite promising. I recently got a glimpse at how files interact with each other with the "requires" module. It's a huge relief to see that it's straight forward, and I definitely think I'll be going with the thought I had for items being their own files. I've been a little worried about how the save file will look, but that will be something to think about later.
what I want to really dig into is seeing if I can get rot.js working to generate dungeons soon, but to be completely honest I'm going to have my attention split for a couple weeks coming up to work on a game jam with a buddy of mine. It'll be good experience for the both of us, and will hopefully give me some good insight for my personal projects. So yeah, there's not much else I can think about talking about thus week unfortunately, but I think things are going to be picking up in due time. See you next week.
